How will the musicians be dressed for my event?
Our musicians dress in formal concert attire, unless requested otherwise. Men wear tuxedos or black suit and tie, and women in formal concert black.
Which musicians will be at my event?
All of our musicians are professionals, and extremely active musicians in the New York City/New Jersey metropolitan area. Once in a while, one of our musicians may not be available for an event, in which case we will hire a musician of the same excellent caliber who has experience playing with us before.
Can you play a song that is not on your repertoire list?
Absolutely! As long as we are told ahead of time, with adequate time to find an arrangement, any of our ensembles, whether it's the string quartet or jazz trio, can play any song you are looking for!
Do I have to choose every song for our wedding? Can I choose every song?
We are happy to work with you whether you need a little guidance choosing songs, already have every song picked out, or if you want us to choose songs reflective of your event's style and personality.
Most people choose their ceremony songs (wedding party, processional, recessional), and leave the 30 minutes of prelude music up to us (just let us know if you want pop or classical), but we are happy to accommodate specific requests for all or part of the prelude music.
What makes Allemande Ensembles different from other groups?
We might be biased, but there are a few reasons we feel Allemande Ensembles is a cut above the rest:
- All of our musicians, even our subs, are active performers in the NYC/NJ metropolitan area, having performed on Broadway, the Amazon Prime show Mozart in the Jungle, and various regional orchestras. They each have years of experience playing for weddings and events.
- We are a family run business, so you are not dealing with a booking agency or DJ company. What that means for you is working directly with the players that will be performing your event, and a guaranteed quality of performer and musical experience. There is no middleman.
- We are not just a string group, so if you want a string quartet or trio for your wedding ceremony, and a jazz trio for your cocktail hour, we are happy to provide that!
Can you perform for our outdoor wedding or event?
Yes! Outdoor weddings are beautiful, and we would love to accommodate your event! Because of the delicate nature of our instruments, we have a few requirements. Temperatures must be between 60 and 90 degrees, there cannot be any precipitation, and musicians must be provided with shade from direct sun (a large tent, gazebo, etc.).
How far in advance should I book Allemande Ensembles?
We recommend booking as soon as you have a confirmed date for your event to ensure availability. Most people book between 8 to 12 months ahead of their event, and some as far as 18 months. That being said, if you are looking for music for your event next week, please contact us, we will do everything we can to accommodate your request!
My event is far away, how far do you travel?
